The Russian occupiers on the Pokrovske direction will "retreat" when the threat of encirclement becomes apparent.

This opinion was expressed on Radio NV by Yevhen Dykyi, a veteran of the Russo-Ukrainian war and former company commander in the "Aidar" battalion.

"I still don’t think they are so foolish as to give the order to hold on until the end and thus allow us to encircle them. I think they will retreat when the threat of encirclement becomes obvious. And the fact that work is being done to create this threat is quite noticeable to the naked eye," Dykyi noted.

He added that it has become possible to establish coordination within the Defense Forces and move to proactive actions, «synchronized, self-organized counterattacks are taking place in different locations according to a single plan».

Dykyi concluded that this cannot be called "some big counteroffensive, we don’t have the strength for that right now": "But this is an entirely different nature of defense. This is now active defense, where the task is not just to hold every square meter, but to purposefully destroy enemy forces."
