Bail has been posted for the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Olenych: the family went into debt

Petro Olenych did not have the necessary amount in cash or bank accounts, so the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration’s family had to take out a loan to pay the sum of 15 million hryvnias.

Deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Petro Olenych, who was released from detention on bail on February 21, said that the money to deposit into the State Treasury accounts was borrowed by his family through a loan. After all, neither he nor his family had the funds needed to pay the sum of 15 million hryvnias. This is confirmed, by the way, by Petro Olenych’s declaration, which was carefully examined by Informator.

Petro Olenych discussed the nuances of posting bail on Facebook. He stated that he has already submitted an application for suspension from his position for the duration of the pre-trial measure. Now, it should be considered and signed by his direct supervisor—the head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Vitaliy Klychko.

"I thank my family for posting funds through a loan secured by real estate... I consider the suspicions unfounded. Together with my lawyers, we have filed an appeal and will defend integrity in court," Olenych stated.

It should be noted that Petro Olenych and his family likely do not have 15 million hryvnias in cash or in bank accounts. According to the official’s 2023 declaration, Olenych personally owns 31.4 thousand dollars in cash (another 55 thousand is declared by his ex-wife, Iryna Bisyk), and Olenych held approximately 160 thousand hryvnias and 6 thousand euros in bank accounts, while the ex-wife had about 150 thousand hryvnias and 80 thousand euros in banks. If all these funds are combined, it amounts to approximately 7.3 million hryvnias—less than half of the amount needed to release the official on bail.

Interestingly, in the 2023 declaration, Iryna Bisyk is still listed as Olenych’s wife, although it is known that the couple separated more than a year ago. Furthermore, the wife herself is a notable person: her sister is married to Oleksiy Ohurtsov, a judge of the dissolved Kyiv District Administrative Court, who was also involved in the "Vovk tapes" regarding corrupt relations among judges (these recordings of conversations were released by NABU in July 2019).
