The Minister reported that the relevant draft government resolution has already been approved by the Cabinet of Ministers and will soon be sent to the President of Ukraine for signature.
Military personnel aged 18 to 24, who have joined the Defence Forces voluntarily or through conscription, will have the opportunity to obtain higher education without leaving their service. The corresponding changes to the Regulations on military service were approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. This was reported by the Minister of Defence, Rustem Umyerov.
For this, defenders will need to obtain permission from their unit commander or higher command. The decision to pursue higher education will be formalized by an order within the military unit.
"This is especially important for those who sign a contract under the program ’Contract 18-24’. Such servicemen will have the opportunity not only to serve but also to study, develop professional skills and prepare for their future career — both in the military field and in civilian life," added Rustem Umyerov.
The Minister noted that the project developed by the Ministry of Defence was approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. It will soon be submitted to the President of Ukraine for signature.
