Head of the MIA service center Ivan Herashchenko declared over 1 million hryvnias in cash
Ivan Herashchenko, the head of the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Staryi Sambir, came under scrutiny due to a declaration in which he listed 1.11 million UAH in cash, as well as property he acquired during the war.
According to the declaration, Herashchenko owns several real estate properties, most of which are registered in the name of his wife, Iryna. Among them are a store in Staryi Sambir, a plot of land, and an apartment purchased in 2023. The family’s car fleet includes one vehicle – a 2002 Volkswagen Passat, purchased in 2024 for 117,000 UAH, but registered to a third party, Oksana Kulyas.
Interestingly, for 2024, Herashchenko declared the family’s total income to be 622,000 UAH (527,000 UAH — salary from the Regional Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and 95,000 UAH — additional income from another employer). At the same time, the amount of cash and spending on property raise questions about the origin of funds and the financial transparency of the civil servant’s family.
