In Kyiv, a man was detained for recruiting women for sexual slavery in Europe

The man sought women in difficult financial situations and offered them jobs in one of the European countries. They were supposed to participate in explicit photo shoots, for which they were promised a high salary: from 7,000 to 10,000 euros per month.

The "employer" was to receive a certain percentage of their income.

After leaving Ukraine, the women were informed that, in addition to photo shoots, they would also have to provide intimate services.

Rescue of a Kyiv Resident

"In the framework of a pre-trial investigation, police documented a case of the recruitment of a 28-year-old woman from Kyiv, who in April of this year traveled by train to one of the European capitals. Law enforcement officers intercepted the victim in Poland and returned her to Ukraine," police reported.

The suspect "employer," a 50-year-old resident of the Kyiv region, was detained. A search of his residence uncovered various gadgets, money, SIM cards, and bank cards.

The man has been charged under part 2 of Article 149 of the Criminal Code (human trafficking). The article’s sanctions provide for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Police are identifying other individuals involved in this crime.
