The counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine detained a former secretary of the Myrnohrad city court in Donetsk region, who collaborated with the GRU of the Russian Federation and assisted the occupiers in advancing towards Pokrovsk. The suspect leaked the enemy locations of fortifications and firing positions of the Defence Forces. She faces life imprisonment for state treason.

This was reported on Friday, April 18, by the press service of the SSU and the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office. The suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Myrnohrad in the Pokrovsk district, who, according to the investigation, was waiting for the region’s occupation.

In November 2024, the former court employee established contact on Telegram with a former classmate who is fighting in the east against Ukraine.

Through him, the GRU recruited her remotely – she agreed to gather data for the enemy on the operational situation in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

According to the investigation, the traitor leaked to the occupiers the geolocations of fortifications and firing positions of the Defence Forces.

To collect data, she recorded the coordinates of the Defence Forces during trips to the district center.

Also, during reconnaissance missions, the woman marked routes of heavy armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defensive lines near the frontline on Google Maps.

Additionally, she sent a Russian army serviceman data about the locations of personnel and infrastructure objects.

This intelligence data was passed by the acquaintance of the suspect to his handler.

"The SSU counterintelligence exposed the suspect in advance and detained her at her place of residence. Simultaneously, the Security Service conducted complex measures to secure the locations of the Defence Forces," the Security Service reported.

The woman’s phone, containing evidence of work for the enemy, was seized.

She was charged with part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "state treason committed under martial law."

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Comprehensive measures were carried out by the SSU employees in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
