Situation at the front: The Armed Forces of Ukraine repel assaults in the Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kupyansk directions

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 16:00 Thursday, May 1.

Today, communities in settlements on the border with Russia, including Myropilske, Ponomarenky, Bratenytsia, Novodymytrivka, Dmytrivka, Hirky, Bilokopytove, Novovasylivka, Mykhailivka, Sosnivka, Bila Bereza, and Velyka Pysarivka in the Sumy region were affected by enemy artillery and mortar fire; Tymofiivka in the Kharkiv region. Settlements in the Sumy region of Rohivka, Krasnopillya, and Uhroidy suffered enemy air strikes.

In the Kharkiv direction, the Defense Forces are repelling two enemy attacks near Vovchansk and in the direction of Novovasylivka.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out five attacks in the areas of settlements Novoosynove, Hlushkivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, and Zahryzove.

In the Lyman direction, throughout the day, the invader army launched 17 attacks on Ukrainian positions in the areas of Nadiya, Yampilivka, Kolodyazi, and towards Hrekivka and Zelena Dolyna, with seven battles ongoing. Ukrainian soldiers are resiliently holding the defense and inflicting losses on the enemy.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy attacked towards Verkhnokamyanske and Serebryanka. Overall, one combat encounter has occurred since the beginning of the day.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy assaulted the Defense Forces’ positions in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Novomarkove, and towards Bila Hora. Ukrainian defenders stopped two offensive actions by the enemy, and three clashes are currently ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, three combat encounters have occurred in the areas of Shcherbynivka, Druzhba, and towards Diliivka since the start of the day.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian invaders made 26 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian defenders from their positions near the settlements of Oleksandropil, Malyinivka, Lysivka, Dachenka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiyivka, Nadiivka, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyarivka, Troitske, Andriivka, as well as in the direction of Myrolyubivka and Oleksiivka. The Defense Forces are holding the line and repelled 20 enemy attacks, with six clashes ongoing. The enemy struck the settlement of Pokrovsk with aviation using guided bombs.

In the Novopavlivka direction, six enemy attacks occurred in the areas of Pryvilne and Vilne Pole, with two clashes still ongoing. At the same time, the enemy conducted air strikes on Novopil, Rozivka, Sviatopetrivka, and Zenene.

In the Huliaypole direction, Zaliznychne suffered air strikes.

The Defence Forces successfully stopped four enemy attacks in the Orikhiv direction — the invaders tried to advance near Lobkove, Kamyanske, and Stepove. The enemy launched air strikes on the areas of Novodanilivka, Orikhiv, and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the occupiers conducted air strikes on Kherson and Tyahynka.

In the Kursk direction, 21 combat encounters occurred today, with five still underway. Additionally, the enemy conducted 13 air strikes, dropping 18 JDAMs, and carried out 116 artillery strikes on Ukrainian troop positions and settlements, including four from multiple launch rocket systems.

In other directions, there are no significant changes in the situation.
