The Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv has extended the preventive measure for Oleksiy Tandyr, a former judge. He will remain in custody at least until June 29, 2025.

This was reported by "Suspilne".

It is known that all participants in the case, including witness Stanislav Taranichiev—one of the last witnesses yet to be questioned—attended the court hearing.

In total, the prosecutor informed that there are at least 32 witnesses, with one currently considered missing, and the next witness is scheduled for questioning—though this questioning is also in question.

Prosecutor Mykhailo Domanitskyi stated that the main risks remaining are Tandyr’s potential influence on witnesses and experts, as well as the risk of him absconding from the court. This position was supported by the victim’s representative, lawyer Pavlo Tesliuk.

Oleksiy Tandyr’s lawyers accused the judge of making the decision to keep their client in custody in favor of the prosecution, claiming that most of the risks have already been refuted in their petitions multiple times.

Additionally, lawyer Oleh Yurchenko reported that, according to the defense, it wasn’t Tandyr influencing the witnesses, but the State Bureau of Investigation. He stated that searches were conducted on several witnesses since March 14. Their testimonies, according to the lawyer, did not satisfy the prosecution.

Despite the arguments of the lawyers, the court decided to extend the detention of the accused until June 29. Thus, May 27 will mark the third year of Tandyr’s detention in the pre-trial detention center. The court is currently in the witness questioning stage, which has been ongoing for a year and a half.
