Zelenskyy: Defence forces destroyed another Russian aircraft in Crimea

The Defence Forces of Ukraine have once again delivered a powerful strike against Russian troops in temporarily occupied Crimea. Our defenders have destroyed a second Russian aircraft in a day.

This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his address on May 3. The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the Ukrainian military for their successful actions on land, in the sky, and at sea.

"I thank all our warriors, I thank each of our units for their bravery and resilience. I thank our guys who are enhancing Ukraine’s long-range capabilities—both in the sky and at sea. The brilliant shooting down of a Russian military aircraft by our maritime drone is a testament to Ukrainian capabilities. Our army very accurately carried out an operation on military targets in Crimea: minus yet another, the second Russian aircraft in a day. Military depots were also destroyed," he said.

Zelenskyy added that the current intensity of Russian attacks indicates nothing other than Russia’s desire to continue fighting.

"Every night up to a hundred ’Shaheds’. Just this week, from Monday to Saturday, more than 950 Russian air bombs. Daily intense battles in the Pokrovsk direction, in other Donetsk directions. We are responding across the entire front, as well as in the Kursk and Belgorod regions, where our activity is maintained," he said.

The President once again expressed gratitude to everyone who is doing everything possible for Ukraine to be able to defend its land with dignity.

"Everyone who works to ensure that Ukraine can resist the occupier, everyone who develops and implements new technological capabilities for Ukraine—I thank you all. I also thank those in the world who are with us, with Ukraine," he added.
