Russia has spread another fake about a "UAF attack" on the Zaporizhzhya NPP

Russian propagandists have created a new fake news about a strike by Ukrainian forces on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. The aim is to discredit Ukraine.

This is reported by the Telegram Center for Countering Disinformation of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.

"Russian propaganda has intensified a disinformation campaign regarding the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant aimed at discrediting Ukraine. In particular, enemy sources are spreading a fake news about an alleged ’Ukrainian shelling’ of one of the facilities on the territory of the plant," the statement said.

Propagandists claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly attacked the roof of a training building at the power plant with a reactor hall simulator. As in other cases with fake accusations of shelling the plant towards Ukraine, Russians provide no evidence.

"Through the dissemination of such lies, Russia is attempting to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the international community and justify its illegal military presence at the nuclear facility," emphasized the CCD.
