In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, residents continue to search for makeshift burial sites. Currently, there are more than 20 burial sites in the city. Before the full-scale war, there were only three cemeteries.

This was reported by the Mariupol city council on Telegram.

«The pseudo-head of the city, Oleg Morgun, admitted that when Russian forces blocked Mariupol, people buried their deceased relatives directly in courtyards and parks. According to him, over three years, all the bodies were supposedly reburied, but this is not true. Residents are still finding makeshift graves», – the report states.

At the same time, the city council noted that Morgun admitted that 22 burial sites had to be created for burying the dead.

Before the start of the full-scale invasion, there were 3 cemeteries in Mariupol (Staryi Krym Cemetery, Novotroitsk Cemetery, Vynohradne Cemetery). Additionally, three were closed, according to the city council.

It is noted that in this way, the occupiers confirm the incredibly high number of casualties among Mariupol residents as a result of the massive Russian shelling of residential areas.
