"The vacation is over": Chubarov advised Russians to flee Crimea while the bridge is still standing
The head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Refat Chubarov, strongly advises Russian citizens who are illegally in temporarily occupied Crimea to urgently leave the peninsula.
Chubarov stated this in his message on Telegram.
“To the citizens of Russia who are illegally present in the territory of occupied Crimea. This concerns those who have settled in Crimea from February 27, 2014, to today. It also concerns those who are currently in occupied Crimea, so to speak, ’on vacation.’ As you already understand, the illegally constructed Kerch bridge, which connects occupied Crimea with the territory of the aggressor country—Russia, will soon be demolished. And you might find yourselves in a kind of trap. Therefore, I strongly recommend that you urgently leave the peninsula and return home to Russia, to the cities from which you illegally came to occupied Crimea,” said Chubarov.
He noted that his appeal is not related to a desire to warn Russians of a real danger.
"No, there are more prosaic reasons related to preparing for the liberation of Crimea. If you remain in Crimea by this time, Russian generals will definitely use you as a human shield to save their own skins. Believe me, it’s not the first time they would do such a thing. So, citizens of Russia who are illegally in occupied Crimea, do not postpone your departure from Crimea until tomorrow. You might simply not have the time,” added the head of the Mejlis.
