Ukrainian Foreign Minister condemned the USA for congratulating Russia on the national holiday

The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the United States of America for publicly congratulating the Russian Federation on its national day, marking the first such gesture since the onset of the full-scale war.

"As the minister of a country at war, it was particularly unpleasant for me to read public congratulations from some countries to the Russian aggressor this morning, which publicly congratulated Russia on its national holiday. There can be no reward for aggression. There can be no reward for an aggressor country," said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha before the start of the meeting of EU leading ministers.

This statement underscores Ukraine’s position on the inadmissibility of any normalization of relations with Russia in the face of ongoing aggression.
