In the 57th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allegations of violence are denied: an investigation is underway following a serviceman’s statement
The 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refutes information about the beating of servicemen, theft of humanitarian aid, or denial of medical treatment.
Let us recall that a serviceman from the Kirovohrad region claimed mistreatment in the 57th SMB near Vovchansk, where he had been serving since May 2024. In particular, he alleged that commanders instructed certain “appointed” soldiers to beat subordinates and presented video and photos that allegedly documented instances of violence.
According to Deputy Commander Valentyn Zabolotnyi, who commented on the situation for Ukrainian publications, after the publication of the materials, a Military Law Enforcement Service inspection was conducted, and an investigation by the State Bureau of Investigations was initiated, finding no evidence to support the claims. It is stated that the soldier who made the accusations left the unit without permission, refused to provide an explanation, and has a negative service record. The unit also emphasizes that the man was in the unit for only two months and had previous convictions.
