Football player Yevhen Seleznyov commented on the language scandal

Former footballer of "Shakhtar" and "Dnipro" Yevhen Seleznyov commented on the recent language scandal that arose after the claims of the Odesa football player-blogger regarding the use of the Russian language during a match.

In his statement, Seleznyov said that he is currently actively learning the Ukrainian language and respects it. He also noted that he dreams of returning to the Ukrainian Donbas someday.

The incident gained publicity after a video in which the blogger accused Seleznyov of unwillingness to communicate in the state language. In response, the former forward assured that he supports Ukrainian identity and is moving towards a deeper mastery of it.
