A missile strike on the AFU training ground: some military personnel ignored the alarm signal
On Sunday, June 22, Russian forces launched a missile strike on a temporary training ground of one of the mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. As a result of the attack, three Ukrainian servicemen were killed, and 14 others were injured.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Vitaliy Sarantsev, during a television marathon, as informed by Channel 24.
According to him, thanks to timely security measures following the announcement of an air raid warning, the majority of the personnel managed to disperse and take cover. However, some soldiers ignored the signal despite the threat — they suffered the most during the strike.
Sarantsev emphasized that this was a temporary training ground where soldiers are not permanently stationed but only undergo training.
Following the tragedy, the Ground Forces Command established a special commission to investigate all the circumstances of the incident. Law enforcement officers are also working on-site. The Command is taking additional measures to ensure the safety of servicemen in the event of subsequent attacks.
