Zelenskyy signed a law on reducing the powers of NABU and SAPO

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the controversial law №12414, which provides for the reduction of the powers of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO).

This was reported by Members of Parliament Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Oleksiy Honcharenko, citing their own sources.

Official information about the signing of the document is not yet available on the Verkhovna Rada’s website — the corresponding mark is missing in the draft law record.

Let us recall that this draft law previously faced sharp criticism from the European Union and G7 ambassadors, who stated that such changes undermine the independence of anti-corruption bodies and contradict Ukraine’s commitments on its path to EU membership.
