In Khmelnytskyi region, a bank manager "scammed" clients out of a million

In the Khmelnytskyi region, a bank manager deceived three of her acquaintances for an amount exceeding one million hryvnias.

This was reported by the regional prosecutor’s office.

"While working in a bank branch, the woman managed to convince her acquaintances to hand over their bank cards under the pretext of ’fulfilling a work plan.’ Gaining access to their accounts, she withdrew money from them, used mobile banking, and made payments in stores and cafes. She also proposed opening deposit accounts. The cash that she was supposed to deposit into the account was spent on personal needs. Another scheme for obtaining funds was the proposal to exchange hryvnias for US dollars," according to the report.

As a result of these fraudulent actions, the perpetrator deceived three women and illegally obtained over a million hryvnias.

Under the leadership of the Shepetivka District Prosecutor’s Office, an indictment was sent to court against a 39-year-old resident of Slavuta city on charges of fraud and unauthorized interference with the operation of an automated system of a mobile application (parts 2, 3, 4 of article 190, part 3 of article 191, part 1 of article 357, parts 1, 2 of article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Shepetivka District Police Department of the National Police in the region.
