In Lviv, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection imposed a fine of 48 thousand hryvnias on the owner of the restaurant "Chinese Greeting," Misha Katsurin. The reason was numerous violations of sanitary norms discovered during an inspection of the establishment following a high-profile case of mass food poisoning.
As noted by the Main Directorate of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection in Lviv Oblast, the inspection was conducted following an official notification from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine regarding an outbreak of poisoning among the restaurant’s visitors. Experts found that the establishment had violations in the rules for washing and storing equipment, improper organization of food storage, lack of temperature control, absence of labeling, and other shortcomings. Additionally, some staff members were working without medical records.

"During the inspection, it was established that the business entity violated the hygienic requirements for the production and circulation of food products established by law," – the agency’s statement reads. As a result of the inspection, a financial penalty of 48 thousand hryvnias was imposed on the establishment.
