Kyslytsya: The first draft of the document with security guarantees for Ukraine is almost ready

The first version of the document with security guarantees for Ukraine is in the final stage of preparation and may be presented as early as the beginning of next week. The final formulation of the text is expected by August 31.

This was stated by the first deputy foreign minister, Serhiy Kyslytsya, in an interview with NBC News. According to the diplomat, Ukraine, together with international partners, is gradually progressing in the negotiation process despite Russia’s constant attempts to disrupt it.

At the same time, Kyslytsya sees no signs of Vladimir Putin’s readiness for substantive negotiations or bilateral meetings. However, he emphasizes that the US increasingly understands the manipulations of the Kremlin and has tools to influence Moscow.

He also separately emphasized that Russia will not participate in resolving Ukraine’s security issues. The formation of security guarantees is a joint effort of the US and Ukraine’s European partners.

"Russia must fulfill its part of the agreement — to work in the spirit of cooperation with the United States and Ukraine’s European partners, who will agree among themselves on security guarantees... Security guarantees are not intended for any malicious actions of the aggressor in the future," explained Kyslytsya.
