General Staff of the AFU: "The ’seasonal’ offensive campaign of the Russian Federation has ended with practically nothing"

The General Staff responded to the report of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation regarding the "results of the spring-summer campaign of 2025," calling it Russian propaganda and an attempt to present wishful thinking as reality.

This is stated in a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is emphasized that the foundation of the "report" is an attempt to present wishful thinking as reality and outright lies.

"After three and a half years of full-scale aggression by the Kremlin, its next "seasonal" offensive campaign ended with virtually nothing. Despite Gerasimov’s statements, Russian forces failed to gain full control over any major city. Instead, since the beginning of the year, in futile battles in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, and Donetsk regions, the Russians have lost nearly 210,000 of their soldiers killed and wounded, and 2,174 armored fighting vehicles, 1,201 tanks, 7,303 artillery systems, and 157 multiple rocket launchers have been destroyed and damaged.

The enemy’s fake reports about "security zones" in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions are nothing more than an attempt to conceal the failures of operations that have become a dead end for the enemy with tens of thousands of losses," the statement says.

The General Staff reported that this year alone, in the operational zone of the Joint Force Operation "Kursk," Ukrainian soldiers have eliminated 19,080 fighters, and over 25,000 have been wounded. Meanwhile, today, Ukrainian troops are conducting active operations in the Sumy region, where they have liberated Kindrativka and Andriyivka, pushing the enemy from other border settlements.

"The figures presented by the occupiers regarding captured territories and settlements are significantly exaggerated. Meanwhile, the 100% confirmed result achieved by the Russians since the beginning of 2025 is their total losses of over 291,000 soldiers killed and wounded. The mass awarding of 120,000 Russian soldiers only confirms the scale of the losses," added the staff.

The General Staff also refuted Russia’s statements about "high-precision strikes" on "exclusively military targets": "Where the Russian ’Iskander’ falls is where the ’Ukrainian command post’ or ’foreign mercenary base’ ’happens to be.’"

The claim about "destroying the Ukrainian missile industry" is also a propagandistic illusion. Regular accurate strikes on military targets deep within Russia are the best rebuttal to Kremlin tales.

"The final report by General Gerasimov is a typical example of aggressive Kremlin lies and arrogance.

Ukrainian Defence Forces hold the front, destroy and exhaust the occupier, and prove that no Kremlin propaganda can hide the failure of the Russian spring-summer campaign of 2025," emphasized the General Staff.
