The negotiations between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska, which took place on August 15, were beneficial for the dictator. He received from the American president "what he wanted."

This opinion was expressed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The American TV channel ABC News recorded an interview with the President of Ukraine on Friday, September 5.

Zelenskyy expressed disappointment over the bilateral meeting of the leaders of the USA and Russia.

"It’s a pity that Ukraine was not there because I think President Trump gave Putin what he wanted," – admitted the head of state.

He clarified that the mere meeting with the leader of the United States is an achievement for the Russian dictator.

"He wanted, you understand, he really wanted to meet with President Trump, with the President of the USA. And Putin got that. And it’s very unfortunate," – said Zelenskyy.

He added: "Putin does not want to meet with me, but he really wants to meet with the President of the United States, to show everyone the videos and photos that he was there."
