A woman who spent more than six years in Russian captivity has been returned to Ukraine.

This was reported in Telegram by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada, Dmytro Lubinets.

According to Lubinets, Svitlana was arrested by the Russians in 2019 in front of her daughters, Anna and Sofiya.

During her imprisonment, she did not see her children and did not know about their fate. After the arrest, the daughters initially lived with their grandmother in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine, then their father took them to Mariupol, then to Khmelnytskyi, and later the family moved to Germany.
The mother’s main wish after her release was to reunite with her daughters.

"Thanks to the efforts of our office, Svitlana was able to reunite with Anna and Sofiya and spend time together in Bukovel — the first step towards recovery and gradual healing after the experienced traumas," Lubinets reported.
