Ukraine successfully strikes Russian logistics facilities and oil refineries, says veteran of "Aidar"

Deep strikes on Russian territory are what Ukraine does best in this year of war.

This opinion was expressed by Yevhen Dykyi, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian War and former company commander of the "Aidar" battalion.

"And it is something that resembles a strategy. Because let’s be honest. On the front, our strategy is to hold out. And that’s not much of a strategy. But the systematic destruction of Russian warehouses, logistics, and especially the work on oil refining is what resembles a well-thought-out strategic line. We just need to understand that it works quite slowly. But it actually works," said Dykyi.

He noted that the Russian air defence intercepts about half of the Ukrainian UAVs, while Ukraine shoots down up to 90% of Russian "Shaheds" during air attacks.

"The situation is almost mirrored there. However, they are far from intercepting 90%. But what’s good there is the dynamics. They are not increasing the number of drones they intercept. On the contrary, it seems to be decreasing. That is, the success of our strikes is gradually increasing. And there is an objective reason for that. Their air defence is really running out. It turned out that there wasn’t that much from the very beginning, just when we started working on Russian territory," added Dykyi.
