Sumy region under fire: 87 Russian attacks on 39 settlements, seven wounded
As a result of Russian shelling in the Sumy region, seven people were injured. Throughout the day from the morning of September 24 to the morning of September 25, Russian forces conducted 87 shelling attacks on 39 settlements in 15 territorial communities of the region.
As mentioned by the regional military administration, the most shelling incidents were recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
In Velykopysarivska community, a 74-year-old woman was injured as a result of a mortar shelling from enemy territory.
In Vorozhbianska community, due to an FPV drone attack, two women aged 39 and 64, as well as a 61-year-old man, were injured.
In Novoslobidska community, as a result of an FPV drone strike, a 64-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man were injured.
In Shalyhynska community, a 52-year-old man was injured due to an FPV drone strike.
Settlements in the following communities were under enemy fire:
- Sumska
- Khotynska
- Yunakivka
- Myropilska
- Krasnopilska
- Bilopilska
- Vorozhbianska
- Druzhbivska
- Shalyhynska
- Esmanska
- Hlukhivska
- Seredyno-Budska
- Putyvl
- Novoslobidska
- Velykopysarivska.
The enemy actively used guided aerial bombs, MLRS, and dropped VOGs from UAVs:
- 15 guided aerial bomb strikes;
- almost 20 MLRS strikes;
- up to 10 VOG drops from UAVs.
The enemy also conducted FPV drone strikes and UAVs attacks on the territory of Sumy region.
Civil infrastructure was damaged:
- In Krasnopilska community, civil infrastructure objects were damaged;
- In Vorozhbianska community, a private car was damaged.
- In Sumy community, private houses, a non-residential building, and a civil infrastructure object were damaged.
During the day, local authorities, together with the units of the State Emergency Service, National Police, and community organizations, evacuated 3 people from border communities. The air alarm in the region lasted 20 hours and 54 minutes.
