Former member of KRAIL Yakhniy received a suspended sentence for facilitating the Russian online casino Pin-Up

On September 16, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv approved a plea agreement between former member of the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries, Yevhen Yakhniy, and the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to which he received a sentence of 5 years of suspended imprisonment – with a probation period of 2 years (he actually served eight months in pre-trial detention, awaiting the verdict).

The verdict published in the court register states that Yakhniy facilitated the activities of the online casino "Ukr Game Technology," being aware of its connection with the Russian brand Pin-Up.

The software for Ukr Game Technology was provided by the Cypriot company Guruflow Team, which in 2011 became the owner of the Russian LLC "Pin-Up.Ru". After the onset of full-scale invasion, to mask the Russian origin of the business, LLC "Pin-Up.Ru" was renamed to LLC "Fonkor", and the trademark in the territory of the Russian Federation was changed to IvanBet and FonBet.

The Security Service of Ukraine repeatedly warned the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries about the connection of Ukr Game Technology with Russians and the need to revoke the license, but the commission’s management ignored these messages.
