The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) made an unusual and paradoxical statement, using a list of negative events in the city as a harbinger of positive changes.

He listed serious problems related to the management of the capital:

  • Hundreds of criminal cases

  • Dozens of convictions for embezzlement in the city

  • Public corruption scandals

  • Anti-corruption investigations

Concluding his list, he stated:

"Hundreds of criminal cases, dozens of convictions for embezzlement in the city, public corruption scandals, and anti-corruption investigations — this is an announcement of good news."

This statement is likely a hint that the active fight against corruption and the exposure of abuses in Kyiv’s authorities is a positive step that will ultimately lead to the improvement of city management.
