Change in language map: 40% of schoolchildren communicate mainly in Russian during breaks

40% of schoolchildren most often speak Russian during breaks between classes, reported Svitlana Babinets, the head of the Central Interregional Department of the State Service for Education Quality.

She also noted that the percentage of students who consider Ukrainian their native language has decreased from 71% to 64% over the past year.
