Head of the Western Department of the State Labour Service detained for bribery in Lviv
Yevhen Smetanyuk is suspected of receiving UAH 8,000 for the approval of a document on labour protection.
On Tuesday, February 27, employees of the SBI, together with operatives of the department of strategic investigations in the Lviv region, detained the head of the department of the Western interregional department of the State Labor, Yevhen Smetanyuk, and the intermediary who transferred the money, on suspicion of taking a bribe.
As the media was told by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police, the suspects demanded and received a bribe of 8 thousand UAH from officials of an LLC in Lviv for the smooth registration of a declaration of compliance of the material and technical base with the requirements of labor protection legislation.
The detainees are being suspected of receiving a bribe (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code).
