Journalists exposed the new schemes of the ex-director of the Kyiv metro

The head of the Kyiv subway, Viktor Brahynskyi, who became an “ex” just a few days ago, has probably enriched himself well during the 10 years of his chairmanship.

Journalists dug up a lot of interesting information about the former head of the enterprise.

After the publication of the first part of the investigation, the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klychko said that Brahynskyi would be fired, and he did quit. But the investigators did not keep themselves waiting and today, March 18, they published a new part, where they explained why this story cannot end with a simple dismissal.

“A billion-dollar ballerina and relatives-contractors: the metro has been concluding contracts with director Braginsky’s entourage for years. Viktor Brahynskyi headed the Kyiv metro for 10 long years, and his relatives have gained a considerable fortune during this time,” journalists write.

And they ask: “What is the secret of such success?” The answer was found in the metro contracts.

“There we also saw: tens of millions that were allocated to the company of Brahynskyi business partner; fake competition between the company of the same partner and the Brahynskyi family accountant; contracts with a company whose director was Brahynskyi’s sister; a ballerina who received 1.5 billion from the metro - and turned out to be the mother-in-law of this same business partner,” the investigation says.

Literally half an hour after publication, the mayor of the capital responded to the second part of the investigation. He asked journalists to pass on all the information.

“I ask Bihus info journalists to pass on information about the facts published in the investigation against Viktor Braginsky to law enforcement and anti-corruption authorities. And I appeal to law enforcement officers for a prompt and open to the public investigation of Bihus Info information,” Klychko wrote.

Journalists from BIHUS.Info emphasize that the worst thing about this story is that hundreds of millions have “dissolved,” while the Kyiv subway is literally crying out for urgent repairs and reconstruction of individual stations.

“Repair, construction, important spare parts. And while the director’s entourage was engaged in “developing their own businesses,” Kyiv citizens received station closures, emergency sections in tunnels, and new metro stations that never opened,” the journalists concluded.
