Residents of Chernihiv spoke about the first minutes after the Russian missile attack on April 17.

"I was taking my child to kindergarten, then went to work. I heard a whistle that sounded like an airplane, but it wasn’t one. I looked at the sky and saw nothing, heard an explosion. I returned to kindergarten, and they called me from work and said that “arrival” for us,” said one woman.

“My son lives here. When we heard explosions, I saw smoke. I realized that it was somewhere nearby, I started calling my daughter-in-law - she was sleeping at home with the children. She had a nervous breakdown, the window in the bedroom blew out: she grabbed the children and jumped out into another room. At that moment, the next explosion was heard: they were thrown into the corridor, and during the third explosion they ran down the stairs to the basement - the apartment was blown apart,” said another woman.
