Zelenskyy accused the allies of “double standards” for repelling an attack on Israel
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers it “double standards” that the West helped protect Israel’s skies during an Iranian attack, but refuses to do the same for Ukraine during Russian attacks.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this in an interview with Brazilian media.
“When we said from the first day of the war: “Close the sky, protect Ukraine,” they told us: “We can do this, otherwise we will be drawn into a war with the Russian Federation, because you are not a NATO country, and we are NATO countries.” .
Zelenskyy stressed that during the defence of Israel from an Iranian attack, the allies demonstrated “that the technology is enough to shoot down hundreds of Iranian missiles and Shaheeds,” and this demonstration also “should have been a demonstration for Russia.”
“After all, Russian planes and missiles have repeatedly crossed the airspace of Poland and Romania, and there were no reactions there. This speaks of double standards,” the president emphasized.
" And what happened in Israel? Planes that fired missiles. If we are offered, for example, the aviation of France, Germany, Poland, Britain - it doesn’t matter who, taking to the skies on the territories of even their own states, not to mention that in another space or in ours... If this aircraft rises on the territory of our neighboring countries and shoots down missiles that are certainly flying across Ukraine, but can also fly into these territories, as has already happened with Poland and Romania, let them shoot down these missiles. I will only . standing ovation, I will only be grateful for this. Because these are the same rules for everyone between allies or double standards ,” Zelenskyy added.
