The Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with 34 missiles: air defence forces destroyed 21 air targets
During the night attack on April 27, Russian occupation forces used 34 missiles of various types to attack Ukraine. Air defence forces destroyed 21 air targets.
This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk.
The Air Force Commander noted that the night attack carried out by the invaders was combined: the invaders simultaneously fired missiles of different types into Ukraine.
In total, the enemy used 34 air, ground and sea-based missiles, in particular:
- 9 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area Saratov region, Russian Federation);
- 9 X-59/X-69 guided aircraft missiles (from the airspace of the Belgorod region and the waters of the Azov Sea);
- 2 anti-aircraft guided missiles S-300 (from the Belgorod region, Russian Federation)
- 2 Iskander-K cruise missiles (from Crimea);
- 4 aeroballistic missiles X-47M2 "Dagger" from MiG-31K aircraft (launched from the airspace of the Ryazan and Tambov regions, Russian Federation);
- 8 Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea.
“Fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare equipment of the Ukrainian Defence Forces were involved in repelling the enemy’s air attack,” Oleshchuk noted.
As a result of the night air battle, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 21 enemy missiles, of which:
- 6 X-101/X-555 cruise missiles;
- 8 guided aircraft missiles X-59/Kh-69;
- 1 Iskander-K cruise missile;
- 6 cruise missiles "Caliber".
“I thank all the units who repelled the occupiers’ missile attack that night,” said Oleshchuk.
