The wanted ex-Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine, Mykola Zlochevskyi, owns two luxury apartments in one of the elite residential complexes of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He bought the property for $11 million almost immediately after the Revolution of Dignity.
This is evidenced by a data leak from the Dubai Land Department and UAE utility companies (Dubai Unlocked), Radio Liberty reports. Using transactions, journalists verified some of the data and found many former and current officials among the owners of luxury real estate in Dubai: ministers, MPs, judges, prosecutors, heads of state-owned enterprises and relatives.
In particular, Mykola Zlochevskyi, a former minister from the time of Yanukovych, was found among the owners of elite property. He owns two apartments in the luxury residential complex W Residences Dubai - The Palm, located on an artificial palm island - Palm Jumeirah.
The area of the apartments is more than 1.7 thousand square meters. m. According to transaction data, they cost the ex-minister almost $11 million (UAH 435.46 million at the exchange rate as of May 15). Zlochevskyi purchased the property in July 2019, when he had already been removed from office and put on the wanted list on suspicion of theft of a loan that the National Bank had allocated to the then-operating Real Bank.
Therefore, Mykola Zlochevskyi transferred the Dubai property to his daughter Hanna, who remains the owner today. At the same time, the Zlochevskyi family used passports of Cypriot citizens in real estate transactions. Subsequently, their father’s gas production company Burisma was also transferred to Hanna and her sister Karyna Zlochevska.
