Russian troops struck the Kharkiv region: a woman died

On Saturday, 27 July, Russian troops shelled Moskalivka in the Kharkiv region. They killed an elderly woman there - a direct hit to her house left her with no chance of survival.

This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. Another person in the area was wounded. Under the procedural leadership of the Chuhuiv and Kupyansk district prosecutor’s offices of the Kharkiv region, pre-trial investigations have been launched into violations of the laws and customs of war (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on July 27, at about 17:10, the Russian Armed Forces fired at the village of Moskalivka, Chuhuiv district.

It has been previously established that the invaders hit the populated area with a missile. A 74-year-old woman died as a result of a direct hit in a residential building. Outbuildings and a car were damaged.

As of 21:15, the State Emergency Service reported that Kharkiv rescuers extinguished the fire after the shelling.

"This afternoon, the enemy shelled the private sector of Moskalivka village in Starosaltiv community of Chuhuiv district. Houses, outbuildings and a car were damaged, and several fire spots appeared. Rescuers prevented the fire from spreading to residential buildings," the SES said.

3 units of equipment, 12 rescuers and a medical team from the State Emergency Service were involved in extinguishing the fire. According to preliminary data, a 74-year-old woman died.

In addition, residential buildings were damaged as a result of hostile shelling of the town of Vovchansk and the village of Vovchanski Khutory. There were no casualties.

Also, at around 17:25, the occupants attacked Kupyansk district. A 55-year-old man was wounded in the village of Kruhlyakivka as a result of shelling from an MLRS. He was hospitalised in serious condition.
