Zelenskyy met with business representatives in Volyn: “We discussed energy and security issues”
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with producers in Volyn as part of the Made in Ukraine economic platform. The topics of discussion were energy and regional security.
Zelenskyy published a video from the meeting on his official Telegram channel. “Thank you to the producers for the jobs, for supporting the Ukrainian economy and being real taxpayers. This is very important for our state to live and develop,” the message says.
Zelenskyy noted during the meeting that while the war is going on, the situation in the energy sector will not be simple, but the government is doing everything possible to improve it, the Presidential Office reports.
According to the head of state, the Russian Federation is trying to sow panic in the border areas.
He called for trusting only Ukrainian official sources of information.
First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliya Svyrydenko said that in 2024, within the framework of the “Made in Ukraine” platform, Volyn entrepreneurs will be able to receive UAH 1.6 billion.
We are talking about grants, loan programs, compensation for domestic agricultural machinery and more than 20 million UAH of subvention for the purchase of school buses produced in the region.
“Now supporting domestic producers is a matter of our security, not only economic. After all, up to 40% of the purchase of Ukrainian goods comes back to Ukrainians in the form of salaries, taxes and fees. And it is thanks to business that we have the resource to support our security and defense sector,” said Svyrydenko.
Zelenskyy also visited a light industry enterprise specializing in the production of textiles.
Last year, this production was one of the top five largest taxpayers to the local budget and one of the three most efficient enterprises in its industry.
The director of the company introduced Zelenskyy to the production process and told where exactly the products are sold. The President spoke with the employees and thanked them for their work, the OP reported.
