Carriers are considering the possibility of hiring women and foreigners as drivers

The vice-president of the industry association, Volodymyr Balin, said that international road hauliers are considering hiring women and foreigners as drivers.

Currently, the shortage of drivers for the Association’s companies is 30% - about 30 thousand people.

Some companies are already trying to hire women, but so far this is “not entirely effective.” And it will be difficult to attract foreigners legally.

“A driver, for example, from India must obtain visas from European countries in order to enter there, and this is an additional burden both in terms of time and money. We are considering this issue because, unfortunately, it may happen that we have no other options it will be," says Balin.
