Cabinet dismissed deputy energy minister caught taking bribe

On 12 August, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Deputy Energy Minister Oleksandr Heil, who was detained for taking a bribe.

This was reported on the government’s Telegram channel.

The Ministry of Energy submitted a motion to dismiss Hale to the Cabinet of Ministers today.

The Ministry of Energy stated that Heil was detained while receiving an illegal benefit “with the assistance of the minister.”

"Cleansing the energy sector of any manifestations of corruption is one of the priorities of our work. The Ministry closely cooperates with the SSU, NABU and other law enforcement agencies in order to completely eradicate corruption in the energy sector. The defendants in the case have been notified of suspicion, and investigative actions are currently ongoing," the statement says.
