Military Mykola Voroshnov reports that the Russian army is already 6 km away from Selydove, and the loss of Selydove would pose a threat to Kurakhove’s defence.

"It is extremely difficult to defend the city for a long time and effectively due to the complexity of the terrain. When they reach the highway, the assault on the city will be faster than clearing Sudzha. The enemy has crossed the Uhledar-Mariinka highway and has consolidated our previous positions. The fall of Selydove threatens, first of all, the defence of the city of Kurakhove, which should have been covered from the heights in the direction of Selydove, and this group should have been cut off by a fairly large reservoir," writes Voroshnov.

Also, according to his assessment, there is a threat of semi-encirclement of the group in Ugledar if the Russian Federation manages to capture a number of important objects along the Uhledar-Mariinka highway.
