Court imposes fine on Rivne region resident for evading military registration
The Dubrovytskyi District Court of Rivne Region found a person liable for military service guilty of evading military registration during mobilisation. The resident of the region ignored the delivery of a summons to the TRC and did not update his data, as a result of which the court ordered him to pay a fine.
As noted in the verdict published in the court register in August, Rivne region resident Oleksandr K. received a summons on July 16 at his place of residence requiring him to appear at the TRC the following day to clarify his military registration data. At the appointed time, the man did not show up at the military registration and enlistment office, as a result of which a criminal case was opened against him for evading military registration.
In court, the accused admitted his guilt and asked not to impose a harsh punishment on him. Judge Andriy Tarasyuk reviewed all the case materials and took into account the circumstances concerning the accused, in particular the fact that he had not previously been held criminally liable. The judge imposed a fine of UAH 5,100. The sentence can still be appealed.
