Occupiers target Kurakhove, - military

The main target of Russian troops in the Donetsk region at the moment is Kurakhove, not Pokrovsk.

This opinion was expressed by a military man with the call sign “Son of Mannerheim” in his Telegram channel.

"Today, the most active section of the front remains the Pokrovsk direction, but the main target of the enemy’s attack is Karlivka-Kurakhove. Despite everyone’s attention to Pokrovsk, the enemy is trying to capture Kurakhove in order to then force the entire Vuhledar group of the Ukrainian Defence Forces (UDF, - Ed.) to retreat along with the remaining forces in Krasnohorivka. At the same time, an additional direction of attack is Pavlivka and Vuhledar, with the goal not so much of capturing the latter, but of preventing the UDF from maneuvering in the encirclement that has formed," the military man noted.

“In addition, the capture of Kurakhove will minimize the risks of a possible counterattack by the SDU in the direction of Kostyantynivka and Ocheretyne, which in the current situation will significantly worsen the enemy’s logistics on the Pokrovsk salient,” he added.
