SBI has uncovered a new scheme of earning from draft evaders in the Odesa Territorial Recruitment Center

In Odesa, law enforcement officers uncovered a new corruption scheme in one of the territorial recruitment centers. An employee of the Malynovskyi District Recruitment and Social Support Center attempted to "earn" from draft evaders.

He offered his "services" for 4-7 thousand US dollars.

This was announced by the State Bureau of Investigation.

The illegal scheme in the TRC had been in operation since March 2023. An employee of one of the military commissariat departments unauthorizedly adjusted the data of conscripts in the electronic "Oberih" database, for which he received payment from them. The perpetrator entered false information into the database about men’s unfitness for service, allowing them to travel abroad.

The State Bureau of Investigation is identifying all individuals who managed to use this scheme. The TRC employee has been notified of suspicion for unauthorized interference in the work of information and communication systems (Part 5 Article 361 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of up to 15 years of imprisonment. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved. Procedural guidance is provided by the Odesa Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the defense sector of the Southern region.
