Airstrike on Kharkiv: death toll rises to 4

According to the city’s mayor, Russian terrorists struck Kharkiv at 02:51.

"The impact (likely a guided aerial bomb) was recorded in the Osnovyanskyi district," he reported.

"The strike hit a residential area: two houses were destroyed, and about 20 sustained various degrees of damage," noted the Mayor of Kharkiv.

Emergency and rescue operations are currently underway at the scene, clearing rubble to locate any possible victims.

According to a statement by the head of the Regional State Administration, Oleh Synyehubov, the shelling in the Osnovyanskyi district caused a fire in a private house, one house was destroyed, and two more were damaged.

"Unfortunately, there are already two fatalities. People, including children, may be trapped under the debris. The aftermath is still being addressed. All emergency services are working on-site," stated the head of the Regional State Administration on Telegram.

Updated: The body of a fourth deceased person has now been found under the rubble of a house following the bomb impact.

"Right now, rescuers have retrieved the body of the fourth person from under the debris," wrote Mayor Ihor Terekhov at 4:58.
