Aviation Service of Ukraine is ready to resume flights by 95%, — Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction Oleksiy Kuleba
The Aviation Service of Ukraine is capable of restoring flights by 95%, but the main factor for this remains ensuring passenger safety.
This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Ukraine’s Restoration, Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba on the program "Karpyak on Suspilne".
According to him, from the moment the decision is made to the start of flights in Lviv or Boryspil, it would take approximately 45-50 days. However, a critically important condition is ensuring passenger safety.
"The security architecture requires very serious air defense measures, which are currently being used in the country as intended. Therefore, when we have sufficient air defense for a particular airport, we can talk about it. Unfortunately, today it is not feasible," emphasized the Minister of Communities and Territories Development.
In response to a question about whether one can expect the opening of air travel in 2025, Kuleba noted that everything would depend on the situation at the front: "Of course, we can hope. But to be realistic, in general, we can discuss this solely considering the front. Like all other issues related to the development of our country — first and foremost the front, and only then any other development."
