DIU: Russia has created a system of torture for prisoners of war
The Russians have created a system of torture for prisoners of war and are preparing appropriate "specialists" for this.
This was stated by the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov.
UN experts note that over 95% of military personnel released from Russian captivity were subjected to torture. Yusov emphasized that in most of these cases, it is not about the use of force to obtain information. The Russians used torture to break the resistance of the prisoner and humiliate their dignity.
According to intelligence data, there is an entire system of torture in Russia, and certain people who are trained according to a special program are responsible for this. Meanwhile, the structures responsible for monitoring compliance and protection of the Geneva Conventions and humanitarian law are practically inactive.
"Where absolutely outrageous examples of violations of the Geneva Conventions by the Russian Federation are recorded, it should not be Ukraine, as the victim, that announces this, but those structures that are responsible for monitoring compliance and implementation of the Geneva Conventions, which is often not the case," emphasized Yusov.
