According to the director of the analytical center "Restaurants of Ukraine," Olha Nasonova, 50 establishments closed down from 2022 to 2023.

The second half of 2024 will be the time for the closure of another half a hundred establishments, 60% of which operated before the onset of Russia’s invasion, as reported by the restaurant holding !Fest.

Restaurateurs note a significant decrease in income, which forces them to announce restaurant closures and mass layoffs of employees.

"In 2024, about 70% of regular customers disappeared. By April 2024, we were breaking even. Then we realized it was the end," shares the opinion of a former owner of a closed establishment near Rynok Square.

The reason lies in the fact that in 2024, internally displaced persons began to leave Lviv, where there were 150 thousand of them in June 2023. Another factor was the intensification of mobilization in May 2024, which led to a decrease in the number of people coming to the city and going out.
