Russian forces continue to recruit soldiers from North Korea for "meat" assaults in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an operation. However, in the last few days, the tactics of the DPRK military in this region have changed – while previously they went on assaults in groups of 1-2 soldiers, now they "go" in groups of 30-50 people at once.

This was reported by a military serviceman of the Armed Forces and political scientist Kyrylo Sazonov in an interview with Channel 24. According to him, such tactics make the Koreans an excellent target for the Defence Forces.

Sazonov emphasized that the North Korean military are the first to go on assaults. Then the Russians use drones to identify Ukrainian positions, strike them, and then send in more professional stormtroopers.

Previously, the enemy tried to approach the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in groups of one or two and gather there, knowing that Ukrainian forces would not waste a shell or mine on one invader. But in the last 3-4 days, not 8-10 soldiers but about 30-50 have been participating in assaults. Moreover, they "bulldoze" ahead in columns towards Ukrainian military positions.

According to Sazonov, Ukrainian soldiers have not seen cases on the front line for a long time where enemy soldiers go on assaults in such large numbers, especially in open areas and in full view. This testifies to the true attitude of the Russians towards the North Koreans – they are used simply as targets, expendable material.

"The topic of North Koreans is very media-driven, it has been overblown. In fact, they are of no great importance. Let’s assume there are 10,000 of them, as intelligence reports, and 2-3,000 are participating in battles. As of mid-November, there were already more than 55,000 enemy troops in the Kursk region, and we eliminated 20,000 in November alone. A few North Koreans were added to the mix, but it did not fundamentally affect anything," the military serviceman said.
