The commander of the 211th brigade has been selected a preventive measure for abuse of power

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the commander of the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleh Poberezhnyuk, who is suspected of unlawful actions against subordinates. He has been taken into custody with the right to post bail in the amount of 908,400 UAH.

Recall that the commander involved four subordinates in the construction of his own house in the Khmelnytskyi region, instead of their service in the combat zone. He was suspended from his duties by the higher command.

The Ternopil Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the abuse of power or authority by a military official. The brigade commander has been notified of suspicion of abuse of office. The investigation also covers possible unlawful actions by the brigade officers, including physical violence against subordinates, extortion of funds, and abuse of power.
