Law enforcement officers eliminated three new schemes for draft dodgers in the west and south of Ukraine

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police uncovered new schemes to avoid mobilization that operated in the western and southern regions of the country. As a result of complex measures, six organizers of these schemes were detained.

This was reported by the SSU press service. The perpetrators offered fake medical certificates of disability or helped draft dodgers illegally cross the border, bypassing official checkpoints.

The cost of such "services" ranged from 5 to 15 thousand US dollars per client.

For example, in the Zakarpattia region, two local residents attempted to transport a dodger across the border by hiding him among construction debris. To disguise, they placed him at the bottom of a horse-drawn cart.

In the Odesa region, organizers of criminal schemes for dodgers were also detained. Three residents of the Podilsk district aged 21 to 25 smuggled conscripts abroad through the so-called "green border".

In Bukovyna, a local doctor was suspected of selling fake medical certificates of Group 2 disability to dodgers after being dismissed from a medical institution. He implemented the scheme using his personal connections in the Medical-Social Expert Commission (MSEC).

The organizers of the schemes have been notified of suspicion under the following articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

• Part 3 of Article 332 – organization of illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine by prior conspiracy by a group of persons;
• Part 3 of Article 369-2 – receiving undue benefit for oneself or others for influencing decisions made by authorized state officials, combined with extortion.

The perpetrators are in custody. They face up to 9 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
