The Armed Forces of Ukraine explained the strategy of Russian forces for the occupation of Pokrovsk

The occupiers plan to bypass Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region to disrupt the logistics chains and put the city in operational encirclement.

This was reported by the spokesman of the "Khortytsia" Operational and Strategic Group of Forces, Viktor Trehubov.

According to him, the occupiers are not currently counting on direct battles in Pokrovsk but aim to bypass the city and destroy infrastructure chains.

The spokesman emphasized that the Russians are stuck in urban battles in Chasiv Yar and Kurakhove and therefore avoid direct attacks on Pokrovsk: "There are no urban battles in the city; the Russians have not reached the city limits, but they are trying to surround the city by operating through neighboring settlements and villages, penetrating with small groups, concentrating, and striking to bypass the city. Additionally, the UAV activity and all resources currently available to the Russians are concentrated in the area of the city of Pokrovsk."
